From 1992-2017, Buckhorn Farm Equestrian Center served as the premier riding and instruction facility in Apex, North Carolina. The farm, owned and operated by Bridget Gibbons and Colin MacNair, relocated to Moore County in 2017, where Bridget and Colin continue the business and reside on the farm property. Together, they have decades of experience with horses, having ridden and shown horses since childhood and being the children of horsemen.
Buckhorn Farm is situated on 80 acres of gently rolling to level land, just north of Southern Pines, NC. Home for the horses is a masonry stable of eight stalls, with paved hallways and full sliding doors. Each horse enjoys his own fan in the summer. We use fly predators for poison-free fly control. The indoor wash stall is complete with heat lamps, and hot and cold water. Boarders enjoy the convenience of full sized cabinets, with the security of locking your tack. The tack room is heated and air conditioned. The hunter ring is a generous 200’ x 300’ and the lighted, covered arena, with mirrors, enables us to ride and train year-round. Practice your dressage in our 20m x 60m sand arena, or school over jumps in the grass stadium arena. Then take a relaxing hack in the adjoining Walthour Moss Foundation. All this, with the individual attention of a small barn.
**Limited pasture board available. Email us for availability / more details. Farm tours by appointment only.
